Dew Brand Identity Blog

A blog to inspire you to think about all the possibilities…

Imagine. Create. Redefine. Doodle. Have fun. Be.

Standing out to blend in.

I love this time of year because of the season change…and because I love Halloween.

Halloween is the one time of the year that a Barista can dress like a scarecrow and a School Principal can be a clown. It’s perfectly normal to see a banana riding a bicycle or to catch a glimpse of a purple unicorn sprinting to the bus.
During trick-or-treat, the bustled sidewalks are full of strangers who’ve come together in their own unique ways.

So, this may be a stretch for you, but I find group fitness to be much like Halloween.
Group Fitness gives us the freedom to explore and change ourselves anonymously.
And everyone is totally accepting. Even encouraging.

I’ve learned that it is important to stick to a routine and be consistent. I can’t work out every day, but I did find a couple of classes that fit into my hectic schedule. These strangers in class hold me accountable. Often there is someone that will hand out a compliment after class. Bonus!

I was fortunate enough to make new friends who have become a support group just by showing up every week. And that lead to sharing music and then fun events outside of the gym. Now we’ve reached a comfort level where we can be goofy in Halloween costumes. (Truthfully, I’m not sure if that part is good or bad!!)

If you find that you need a change, or lack motivation, see if your gym has a program and check out some classes. Join a group fitness studio to get ahead of the holiday caloric intake craze. You might just find yourself heading into the new year with a healthy physical and mental outlook as well as some new, inspiring friends.

To me, it’s just like Halloween; you get to dress your part, find your way in the group, and take in the beauty of the totally supportive, friendly and fun environment.

It is really important to find an instructor that pushes you, but also makes working out fun. I was fortunate enough to find an instructor that not only loves to teach, but she teaches to the poetry and inspiration of music. And through her, I’ve also found a supportive group of friends. For the month of October, it was an 80’s music theme and then we were all encouraged to dress up in 80’s costumes
the week of Halloween. A few of us accepted the challenge!
